A Dose of Reality

Shortly after posting my last blog about the wonderful homeschooling going on around here, we hit the wall. I forgot to mention that if you stick to your schedule day in and day out, week after week, month after month, you are going to go CRAZY! Which happened to us on Monday of this week. We were all cranky and tired and sick of it! So on Tuesday we had a "Recapture the Joy of Homeschooling Day". This did not mean that we played video games all day (much to the boys dismay). We spent the morning doing history projects that we had been avoiding for lack of time, packed a lunch and went to the park, and spent the afternoon watching a civil war documentary. It was a great reminder that homeschooling means we don't always have to stick to a schedule, we can be flexible, relaxed and even have FUN!!
