4 Sundays of Advent

Our family celebrates the four Sundays of Advent (4 Sundays before Christmas) in a special way. Each Sunday one of the four members of the family that can speak clearly :) picks their favorite meal and activity for the family to do. We eat in the dining room on fancy dishes by the light of our Advent Candles (one lit for each Sunday and the middle on lit on Christmas Day). Kevin writes a letter to each child that we read together summarizing their year and how special they are. The kids get a gift each Sunday too, leaving only stockings on Christmas Day. This was our 2nd year to do this and it has been such a special way to celebrate the coming of Jesus!

Sunday #1: Nate chose tacos and we played a board game

Sunday #2: Kevin chose lasagne and we watched football (of course)

Sunday #3: Caleb chose breakfast (chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, eggs) we had Grammie and Papa over and the kids got matching PJ's thanks to Grammie

Sunday #4: I chose roast beef subs with au jus and rest :)
